Individual components of the formulation also have established research backgrounds. Capsaicin has been studied for several types of peripheral pain, while menthol and methyl salicylate are widely used and investigated as ingredients in topical analgesic preparations. It may be used for:
Diclofenac provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity, while the other ingredients provide complementary topical analgesic, cooling, warming, or counterirritant effects.
For external use only. Apply a small amount of gel to clean, dry skin over the painful area and gently massage until absorbed. According to the manufacturer's product information, the gel may be applied several times daily depending on symptoms and the instructions supplied with the product. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin, open wounds, mucous membranes, or near the eyes. Wash hands after application unless the hands themselves are being treated.
