CO-TRINOXAZOLE DS is a combined antibiotic that effectively combats bacterial infections, thanks to the action of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. Sulfamethoxazole inhibits the synthesis of folic acid in bacteria, while trimethoprim enhances its effect by blocking another step in the synthesis. The drug is used to treat urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and other bacterial infections.
The product is used for:
Urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis)
Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
Infections caused by susceptible bacteria (e.g., gastrointestinal, ear, throat infections)
CO-TRINOXAZOLE DS is taken orally, typically 1 tablet (800 mg sulfamethoxazole and 160 mg trimethoprim) 1-2 times a day depending on the severity of the infection and the doctor's instructions. The tablet should be taken with plenty of water, preferably with food.
