How it works:

Inhibits microtubule dynamics in cancer cells
Disrupts cell division, leading to tumour cell death
Effective in chemotherapy-resistant cancers

Recommended for:

Patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer
Individuals with unresectable liposarcoma
When prior lines of chemotherapy have failed
Under oncologist supervision only

Locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, liposarcoma.

The drug is administered via slow intravenous injection over 2–5 minutes following a schedule determined by an oncologist. Dosage depends on body weight, liver and kidney function, and treatment protocol.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to eribulin or excipients
Severe hepatic impairment
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Paediatric use not recommended

Side effects:

Fatigue, headache
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation
Temporary hair loss (alopecia)
Blood disorders: neutropenia, anaemia
Fever
Peripheral neuropathy
Injection site reactions
