How the product works:

Inhibits CYP17 enzyme required for testosterone production
Reduces androgen levels in the body
Slows or halts the growth of hormone-dependent tumours
Must be taken with corticosteroids

Recommended for:

Men with metastatic or castration-resistant prostate cancer
Patients who failed previous hormonal treatments
Use only under oncologist’s supervision

Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer
Surgical or chemically castrated patients
In combination with prednisolone

Take orally one hour before or two hours after meals, at the same time each day. The medication is administered along with corticosteroids (prednisolone) according to the prescribed regimen.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to abiraterone
Severe hepatic impairment
Women and children
Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors

Side effects:

Hypertension
Hypokalaemia
Fluid retention
Elevated liver enzymes
Fatigue, headache
Arrhythmia, bone pain
