Shields healthy cells from methotrexate toxicity
Restores folate enzyme activity
Supports DNA synthesis, especially in rapidly dividing cells
Used in folate deficiency and megaloblastic anaemia

Recommended for:

Patients undergoing methotrexate treatment
Managing toxicity from antifolate therapy
Folate-deficiency megaloblastic anaemia
Combined therapy in cancer care

Folinic acid rescue after methotrexate therapy
Megaloblastic anaemia due to folate deficiency
Toxicity prevention with trimethoprim or pyrimethamine
Support in antifolate drug use

Administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Dosage and administration schedule are determined individually by a physician based on methotrexate levels, body weight, and patient condition.

Contraindications:

Pernicious anaemia or other B12 deficiency-related anaemias
Hypersensitivity to any component
Acute infections without folate deficiency

Side Effects:

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, fever)
Nausea, vomiting
Elevated liver enzymes
Diarrhoea
Rare seizures
