How it works:
Metformin is an oral antidiabetic drug from the biguanide class. It works by reducing hepatic glucose production, delaying intestinal glucose absorption, and increasing insulin sensitivity in tissues. It does not cause hypoglycaemia when used alone.
Recommended for:
Take orally with or after meals. Do not chew the sustained-release tablets. Dosage and duration should be determined individually by a healthcare provider based on glycaemic levels and tolerance.
