Reduces formation of angiotensin II (a vasoconstrictor)
Lowers peripheral vascular resistance
Enhances cardiac output and reduces the risk of stroke or heart attack

Take the tablets orally, with or without food, with a glass of water. The dose is selected individually, starting with the lowest effective dose under medical supervision. Maintenance dosage depends on therapeutic response and comorbid conditions.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Ramipril or other ACE inhibitors
History of angioedema
Pregnancy and lactation
Severe renal impairment
Renal artery stenosis
Concomitant use with aliskiren in diabetic patients

Side effects:

Dizziness, fatigue
Dry cough
Impaired kidney function
Hyperkalaemia
Allergic skin reactions
Taste disturbances
Hypotension
