ACIVIR CREAM 5% inhibits the replication of herpes viruses at the cellular level, helping control outbreaks and relieve associated symptoms such as redness, pain, and itching. It is most effective when applied during early stages of infection.
Recommended for:
Oral herpes (cold sores)
Genital herpes (under physician’s guidance)
Shingles (herpes zoster)
Recurring HSV skin outbreaks
Topical treatment of herpes simplex virus infections and shingles (herpes zoster), including cold sores and genital lesions.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area five times daily, approximately every four hours, excluding night hours. Start treatment at the earliest signs of symptoms for optimal results.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to acyclovir or cream excipients
Extensive open wounds or mucosal lesions
Children under 2 years (unless directed by a doctor)
