• Onychomycosis
  
  
• Tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris
  
  
• Cutaneous candidiasis
  
  
• Scalp ringworm (tinea capitis)
  

Taken orally with or without food. The dosage and treatment duration are determined by a physician depending on the infection type and severity. Nail infections may require 6–12 weeks of treatment; skin infections typically resolve within 2–4 weeks.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to terbinafine
  
  
• Chronic liver disease
  
  
• Renal impairment
  
  
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  
  
• Children (without medical advice)
  
  

Side effects:

• Headache, nausea
  
  
• Loss or alteration of taste
  
  
• Diarrhoea, abdominal pain
  
  
• Rash, itching, allergic skin reactions
  
  
• Elevated liver enzymes
  
  
• Rare: hepatitis, serious skin reactions (e.g. Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
