GAVIR is a synthetic nucleoside analogue that inhibits viral DNA synthesis, effectively preventing replication of herpesviruses, especially cytomegalovirus. It is indicated in cases where oral therapy is insufficient or rapid systemic control is required.

The powder should be reconstituted just before use and administered via intravenous infusion. Dosage and treatment duration are determined by a physician based on renal function, body weight, and patient’s condition.
Hypersensitivity to ganciclovir or acyclovir
Severe neutropenia or thrombocytopenia
