Ivermectin belongs to the class of macrocyclic lactones and acts by disrupting parasite neural transmission, causing paralysis and death.
Recommended for:
skin infections like scabies
intestinal helminth infections
onchocerciasis and strongyloidiasis
adult patients in endemic zones or after suspected exposure
Used for treating onchocerciasis (river blindness), strongyloidiasis, ascariasis, enterobiasis, scabies, and other parasitic conditions.
Take orally with water on an empty stomach, as a single dose or as per doctor’s instructions depending on body weight and infection type.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in children under 15 years. Possible side effects include dizziness, nausea, rash, and Herxheimer-like reaction due to parasite die-off.
