How it works:

Blocks dopamine receptors to reduce nausea and vomiting
Stimulates motility of the upper GI tract
Accelerates gastric emptying without affecting secretion
Increases lower esophageal sphincter tone to prevent reflux

Recommended for:

Patients suffering from severe or chronic nausea
Vomiting due to chemotherapy or radiation
Gastroparesis, dyspepsia, reflux esophagitis
GI diagnostic preparation (endoscopy, ultrasound)

Nausea and vomiting (including chemotherapy- and migraine-induced), gastroparesis, functional dyspepsia, pre-procedural GI preparation.

Administered intramuscularly or intravenously as directed by a physician. Dosage and frequency depend on the medical condition. Not to be used without medical supervision.

Contraindications:

GI perforation or bleeding
Epilepsy and extrapyramidal disorders
Prolactin-secreting tumors
Children under 1 year
Hypersensitivity to metoclopramide

Side effects:

Drowsiness, fatigue
Dystonic reactions, muscle spasms
Diarrhoea
