How it works:
Inhibits the hepatitis B viral DNA polymerase
Reduces viral replication and load
Supports liver function and slows disease progression
Recommended for:
Adults with chronic hepatitis B
Patients with compensated or decompensated liver function
Those who are treatment-naive to nucleoside analogues
Only under doctor’s supervision
Chronic hepatitis B in adult patients
High viral load
Impaired liver function associated with hepatitis B
Take orally, preferably on an empty stomach, once daily at a dose prescribed by your healthcare provider. Treatment duration depends on clinical response and is determined individually.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to entecavir
Under 18 years of age
Pregnancy and lactation
Severe renal impairment (dose adjustment required)
Side Effects:
Headache
Nausea
Fatigue
Elevated liver enzymes
Diarrhoea
Insomnia
Rare: lactic acidosis, hepatomegaly
