How the product works:

Sofosbuvir inhibits NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, a vital enzyme for HCV replication
Used in combination with other antivirals such as Ledipasvir, Velpatasvir
Achieves SVR (sustained virologic response) in 90–95% of cases
Effective across multiple genotypes and in HIV co-infected individuals

Recommended for:

Patients with newly diagnosed or recurrent chronic Hepatitis C
Individuals with hepatic fibrosis or compensated cirrhosis
HIV/HCV co-infected patients
Non-responders to interferon-based therapies

Chronic Hepatitis C (all major genotypes)
As part of combination antiviral therapy
For patients with liver cirrhosis (compensated)
For use in HIV/HCV co-infection cases

Take one tablet orally once daily with or without food. Must be used in combination with other antivirals based on genotype and clinical condition. Duration of treatment ranges from 12 to 24 weeks.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Sofosbuvir
Children
Severe renal impairment
Pregnancy and breastfeeding (unless otherwise indicated)

Side effects:

Headache, insomnia
Fatigue, nausea
Anaemia (with Ribavirin)

Elevated bilirubin levels
