How it works:
Entecavir is a potent inhibitor of hepatitis B virus DNA polymerase. It blocks viral replication at three stages: initiation, reverse transcription, and DNA synthesis. This leads to a sustained reduction in viral load and prevents disease progression.
Recommended For:
Adults diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B
Patients with high viral load and elevated ALT levels
Individuals with liver cirrhosis caused by HBV
Under strict medical supervision
Chronic hepatitis B in adults with evidence of viral replication and liver inflammation
X VIR should be taken orally once daily on an empty stomach. The dose and duration of treatment are determined by the healthcare provider based on the patient’s clinical condition.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to entecavir or excipients
Concomitant use with other HBV antivirals unless prescribed
Children under 2 years old (unless otherwise directed)
Pregnancy and lactation (only if benefits outweigh risks)
Side Effects:
Headache
Fatigue
Nausea
Dizziness
Elevated liver enzymes
Rare cases of lactic acidosis and hepatomegaly
