How it works:
Pregabalin modulates calcium channels in the central nervous system
Reduces the excitability of nerve endings
Alleviates neuropathic pain
Reduces the frequency of partial seizures in epilepsy
Has anxiolytic properties to ease anxiety symptoms
Recommended for:
Adults with neuropathic pain (including diabetic or post-herpetic)
Generalised anxiety disorder
Adjunctive treatment for partial seizures in epilepsy
Fibromyalgia
Neuropathic pain in adults, generalised anxiety disorder, epilepsy (as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures), fibromyalgia.
Take orally with or without food. Dosage is determined by the physician based on diagnosis and individual response. Capsules should be swallowed whole with water.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any component
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Children under 18 years of age
Severe renal impairment (if dose adjustment not applied)
Side effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness
Weight gain, oedema
Coordination disorders, tremor
Blurred vision
Dry mouth, nausea
Attention disturbances, confusion
