How it works:
Pegfilgrastim is a recombinant protein that stimulates neutrophil production
Its prolonged action maintains stable white blood cell counts
Helps reduce the severity and duration of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia
Recommended for:
Patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy
Those at high risk of developing neutropenia
Preventing infection-related complications in cancer treatment
Prevention of severe and febrile neutropenia in patients receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy
Prevention of severe and febrile neutropenia in patients receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Pegfilgrastim or formulation components
Severe congenital neutropenia
Paediatric use (unless otherwise indicated)
Pregnancy and lactation without proper risk-benefit assessment
Side Effects:
Bone pain
Headache, fatigue
Leukocytosis
Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching)
Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
