Etoposide is a semi-synthetic derivative of podophyllotoxin that inhibits topoisomerase II, leading to DNA strand breaks and cancer cell death. It is widely used in various chemotherapeutic combinations.

Testicular cancer and others responsive to etoposide
Used in the treatment of small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, testicular cancer, and other sensitive malignancies.
Taken orally as directed by an oncologist. Dosage is adjusted based on treatment protocol, patient’s weight, and bone marrow function. Capsules should be swallowed whole with water
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to etoposide
Severe bone marrow suppression
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Severe infections or immunocompromised states
Side Effects:
Bone marrow suppression (leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia)
Nausea, vomiting, hair loss
Increased infection risk
Anemia, bleeding episodes
Rare: allergic reactions, liver abnormalities
