How It Works:
Atomoxetine selectively inhibits norepinephrine reuptake in the brain, increasing its availability and improving attention, reducing impulsivity and hyperactivity.
Recommended For:
Children aged 6 and above diagnosed with ADHD
Adolescents with attention impairment
Adults whose ADHD affects work or daily function
Patients intolerant to stimulant-based therapy
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
The medication is taken orally once or twice daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. The dosage is adjusted individually by a healthcare provider with gradual titration.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to atomoxetine
Severe cardiovascular disorders
Narrow-angle glaucoma
Concurrent use of MAO inhibitors
Children under 6 years of age
Side Effects:
Decreased appetite, nausea, dry mouth
Headache, insomnia
Increased sweating
QT interval prolongation
Behavioural and emotional changes
