How it works:
Clobazam is a benzodiazepine derivative that enhances GABA activity in the CNS
Provides significant anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effects
Reduces seizure frequency and severity
Helps relieve anxiety and emotional tension
Recommended for:
Adults and children with epilepsy (as adjunctive therapy)
Generalised and focal seizures
Generalised anxiety disorders
Patients with nervous agitation and sleep disturbances (under medical supervision)
Treatment of epilepsy in adults and children, including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and other seizure-related conditions. Also used in anxiety disorders and emotional instability.
Taken orally with or without food. Dosage is individually adjusted depending on age, clinical condition, and tolerability. Initiation with the lowest effective dose is recommended. Gradual discontinuation under medical supervision is necessary.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to clobazam or other benzodiazepines
Severe respiratory insufficiency
Myasthenia gravis
Acute alcohol or drug intoxication
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Side effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness
Impaired coordination
Decreased attention span
Respiratory depression
Aggression, irritability (rare)
Dependence with prolonged use
