How it works:
Fluphenazine decanoate is a phenothiazine derivative and a classic long-acting antipsychotic. It blocks dopamine receptors in the brain, reducing symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, and aggression. Its effect builds up gradually and lasts up to 3–4 weeks after administration.
Recommended for:
The drug is administered via deep intramuscular injection, preferably into the gluteal muscle. The dosing interval and amount are determined individually by the physician. Standard interval between doses is every 2–4 weeks.
