OLIMELT works by modulating dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, reducing hallucinations, delusions, mood swings, and cognitive disturbances.

Recommended for:

Schizophrenia
Acute mania in bipolar disorder
Relapse prevention in bipolar disorder
Aggressive behaviour in psychotic conditions
Combination therapy with antidepressants

Indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, acute manic episodes, and prevention of relapses in bipolar affective disorder. Can be used as monotherapy or in combination treatment.

OLIMELT is taken orally once daily, with or without food. The tablet dissolves in the mouth or can be swallowed with water. Dosage is determined by the physician based on individual diagnosis and tolerance.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to olanzapine
Narrow-angle glaucoma
Severe hepatic impairment
Pregnancy and lactation (unless prescribed)
Paediatric use (under 18 years)

Side effects:

Weight gain
Drowsiness, dizziness
Constipation, dry mouth
Increased blood sugar and cholesterol
Tremor, akathisia
Rarely – neuroleptic malignant syndrome
