Febuxostat works by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in uric acid production. It lowers uric acid levels and prevents urate crystal deposition in joints.

Take once daily, with or without food. Dosage may be adjusted based on uric acid levels and patient response, under medical supervision.
